Butterflies are constantly being used by fashion designers to depict femininity, grace and beauty. From embellished dresses and tops to skirts with dainty pastel coloured butterflies floating across the latest sheer fabric.

Although butterflies are quintessentially graceful to wear on clothes there are not every women’s ‘cup of tea’. Keeping up with the fashion trends can be achieved by using a butterfly or butterflies on accessories such as shoes and handbags or on jewellery.

Flat leather metallic pumps which have a cutwork butterfly on the front are very cute, comfortable and look great with skirts or jeans for spring and summer wear.

Team these with a necklace or handbag which also has a butterfly motif and a fashionable look can be created which is delicate, feminine and trendy.

Alternatively look for flat pumps in soft pastel shades if you are among countless women who do not find toe post sandals comfortable and don’t want to wear high heeled sandals.

This season sandals designers have gone overboard with embellishments. Pretty ribbons look great on fabric wedge peep toe shoes while beads and faux jewels are being seen on all styles of strappy sandals and shoes.

Of course high heels provide extra height but they also alter the way you posture and the way you walk. It is very difficult to slouch walk when wearing high heels! Heels will make you walk tall and hold your head up high which is a great confidence booster and always means you will make a grand entrance!

In order to look good and walk tall shoes have to be bearably comfortable if they are going to be worn for long periods of time.

In the past women with wide or long feet struggled to find anything which was not down right dull, unfashionable or was only really suitable for much older women. However, women who have wide feet can rejoice as designers now make shoes which are fashionable in larger width fittings as well as large sizes!

Having a separate pair of shoes to match or coordinate every outfit may be beyond many women’s budgets, therefore it essential to choose colours which will look great with most everyday clothes.

Metallic may sound rather over the top, but they look trendy and chic when worn with spring and summer clothes, including jeans and shorts. Cropped trousers look fantastic worn with metallic flat pumps!

Keep your favourite high heeled sandals for special occasions and they will make you feel and look a million dollars!

Although with summer approaching fast boots will be worn less it is still comforting to know that women who have wide calves can find some fabulous styles which have generous calf allowance.

Women who wear plus size clothes should choose shoe styles which are not only comfortable but also give a slimming illusion to thick ankles and calves. Wedge heels are ideal for this. They also offer more confidence than trying to balance and totter around on high heels! Choose soft fabrics for summer as these will also enable fresh air to circulate around the feet and reduce perspiration!
