Luxury holds its own when it comes to the best fashion designers, and there are some this year that have set themselves apart from the rest of the bunch. When it comes to luxurious clothing, some seem to have a certain something and some may not. Those with refined taste for fine clothing will appreciate the talent that these hot professionals bring, so here are few of the best fashion designers to keep your eyes on this year.

Jason Wu has achieved incredible success in his career so far. At only 26 years old, he has already had much experience all over the world in the arena. After studying sculpture in Tokyo, he enrolled at Parsons School of Design in New York. In 2006 his collection debuted, and he was instantly recognized as one of the leading emerging talents in America. In January of 2008 he won Fashion Group Internationals Rising Star Award for womens wear, and he was also named a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Jason Wus popularity in the field immediately surged when First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of his original designs to the Inaugural Ball. This year he was nominated for the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent in womens wear.

Alexander Wang is a native of San Francisco, although he moved to New York at the age of 18 to attend school and to intern at various design companies. By 2005 he was designing his first collection for his label, after which he launched his full womens collection in 2007. In 2008 he added a full line of accessories to the designs he was already selling in more than 200 boutiques and stores around the world. Now at age 25, he resides still in New York Citys Lower East Side. He was selected as the winner of the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. He was also named the winner of this years Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent in womens wear.

Christina and Swaim Hutson carry one of the premier new labels and are two of the best fashion designers for this year for sure. Their label, Hutson, started out with a focus on sportswear that quickly became popular in Japan. In 2006 Swaim relocated to New York. He and his wife Christina, who has more than a decade of experience working for brands such as Victorias Secret and Abercrombie & Fitch, launched OBEDIENT SONS in 2007. They enjoyed much success with their menswear, and the couple launched a womens collection in the fall of 2008 named Daughters. Their line has been launched for the fall of 2009, consisting of both mens and womens handmade clothing, and so far these two have earned impeccable reviews and have already showcased themselves as two of the best fashion designers for 2009.
